@kirbfgc I agree! But unfortunately many employers are mandating RTO. :(. I have seen so many EXCELLENT American workers losing jobs due to RTO mandates.

@KellyIsRightTX We miss Texas. But the Texas we left is not the one we moved to over 25 years ago. Our neighborhood ($1M+ homes) became less and less American. We don’t speak Hindi, Urdu or Telugu. Tech jobs were almost impossible to land with the preferential hiring practices.

@SanDiegoKnight In today’s STEM environment, if there is an Indian anywhere in the decision chain from recruiter to interviewers to hiring manager, a non Indian will most likely not receive an offer! “US based Global companies” no longer support American workers.

@JennXTex I have 3 STEM degrees and have worked in tech for my whole career. (Fled DFW.) I am disgusted to see how America has sacrificed the futures of our youth. Stop all new visas now! Put end dates on current visas. Hire Americans. The media focuses on H1Bs whereas F1 and OPT are evil

@maybedanielleee @tadgh_dc JB hunt issued an RTO mandate last year for tech workers. It gave people a couple of weeks to decide . Most Americans could not displace their families that quickly…especially with school schedules. The end result was that many Americans lost their jobs. The H1Bs were fine.

I have been in tech a long time and have worked along side visa holders, reported into them and..they reported into me (I was forced to hire them) There is nothing cheap about H1Bs and many do not have the tech skills they claim.

@info_maiden @KellyIsRightTX Let me guess. Their parents all have remote aka “work from anywhere jobs” from their Indian consulting firms so commuting is not an issue. Meanwhile, most Americans STEM workers are losing jobs to RTO mandates, forced to relocate or enduring oppressive commutes.

@KellyIsRightTX American companies relocated to Texas for tax benefits. And then they hurt Americans by offering their highest paid jobs to new visa holders. There is no shortage of STEM workers. Many American STEM workers are facing unemployment. But the visa preferential pipeline continues.

@kaylee_ashlynn This is not a new policy for many Texas schools. My son’s elementary school in Plano banned religious shirts, red and green at Christmas, Good Friday became “spring holiday” etc… and this was 20 years ago.

that you can put the interests of America above those of India. I fear you cannot be objective. Indian fraud in tech is rampant. End the H1B program.

@mcheartwood @TRobinsonNewEra After 2+ decades in DFW, we left. We loved Texas!! But…the Texas we moved to was not the one we left. (After living in Plano, Allen and McKinney). We are now in Arkansas and carefully watching the demographics. Unfortunately, the high paying tech areas tend to quickly change.

@stevecortes Unfortunately, this is old news. I graduated in the 80s from the U of I. As a computer science major, most of my TAs were Chinese students who were pursuing their master degrees.
