How many of you have protected someone’s reputation by choosing not to tell your side of the story? Sometimes you know the truth, you know what really happened, and you could easily clear your name, but you choose silence because exposing someone’s worst moments doesn’t feel worth it. People may believe a version of the story that leaves you looking like the villain, and you still stay quiet because your peace matters more than being understood by everyone. There’s a strange kind of strength in knowing the truth and not needing the world to know it too.
Unhealed trauma can make you search for problems where there aren’t any, especially after being hurt repeatedly. Remind yourself that not everything you fear is actually happening. Stop looking for wounds that aren’t there

The scariest part of loving someone isn’t losing them. It’s looking back and wondering if any of it was real. If their words were honest, their promises sincere, or you were simply believing a version of them they wanted you to see. That doubt hurts differently. That doubt stays.
You also make yourself look just as bad not doing your own due diligence if its regarding someone you supposedly care about.
If you're ready to drop a friend at face value of hearsay, you're pretending you appear better.
And very likely hiding something too. And you'll get yours.
