AI agents are already helping operators identify and fix network issues faster.

At @NTT DOCOMO in Japan, AI agents monitor millions of network elements to track service quality, identify problems and help resolve them. The result? A 50% reduction in the time required to fix issues, according to Itsuma Tanaka.

The President & CEO of DOCOMO Communications Laboratories Europe also discusses how AI is being used to support network design, and the connection between becoming AI-native and preparing for 6G.

Why does AI still struggle to deliver the accuracy telcos need?

During his presentation at The AI-Native Telco Forum 2026, Naresh Chouhan of the @GSMA examined why frontier AI models still fall short of telecom requirements — and what it will take to make them more useful for operators.

From the GSMA’s OpenTelco AI platform and open datasets built around 3GPP specifications to model benchmarking and AI for African languages, the presentation looked at how telco-grade AI can become more accurate, relevant and inclusive.

Moving from cloud native to AI native is about data and judgement, not just technology.

Devesh Gautam, Global Head of Solution and Presales at @RakutenSymphony, explains why autonomy depends on having data structured in the right way. For operators, the key lesson is to get the sequencing right rather than focus solely on new technologies and architectures.

What could more autonomous networks mean for CSP revenue?

At the AI-Native Telco Forum 2026, Ron Porter of @amdocs-networks connected network autonomy with a bigger commercial opportunity: more reliable, responsive networks could help operators deliver advanced services and explore new, more dynamic pricing models.

But getting there means moving beyond automation to networks that can predict and prevent issues before they happen.

AI adoption is an organisational transformation, not just a technology project.

Karim Kotobi, Senior Manager for Digital Product and Transformation at @Vodafone, argues that AI strategies need to start with accountability and scalability. That means putting responsibility with the people who need to transform their processes, rather than treating AI as a standalone digital initiative.

Agentic AI needs more than intelligent models to deliver autonomous networks.

At the AI-Native Telco Forum 2026, Anita Döhler of the @NGMN_Alliance discussed why telecom-grade AI needs the right harness to bring agents together with existing network automation tools, including machine learning algorithms that are already working well.

The goal is to build on what operators have in place, rather than replace it — while preparing networks for native AI.
