@BeresfordSenga Silent?! I think not, the amount of times Finlay or Councillors, including myself have raised this is significant and persistent. You need to get a more thorough aide for advice if you don’t know that.
COSLA has today launched 'Local Government’s Role In Economic Development In Scotland', the next in our series of white papers to be published in advance of the 2026 Scottish Parliament election.

COSLA's Environment and Economy Spokesperson, @CllrGMacgregor provided an overview of the work COSLA, Local Government and partners have undertaken in relation to the Scottish environment and economy over the last year.
Reform UK have announced their Scottish Candidates for the 2026 Scottish Parliamentary Elections.
Let's start with Senga Beresford (@BeresfordSenga) - seen at the launch today in this pic.
Senga likes Tommy Robinson. She says she's "Behind him all the way": https://t.co/UtHyGxj5ru
It's not the only time she's clearly supported him: https://t.co/xyoyqgzXpj
Then there's Britain First: https://t.co/GXKJBijeAn
She's clearly happy to interact with the far-right.
@reformparty_uk, is this really the sort of candidate you want in Scotland?

Top @ScotTories team out in #Dumfries today where it’s clear that the May 7 Holyrood election is a straight choice between me and the SNP.
A vote for any other party hands the Nationalists a win here.
Thank you to everyone who joined me on the doorsteps in a Dumfries today!
Right across Dumfries and Galloway and wider South of Scotland the @ScotTories are the only party standing up to and in a position to beat the SNP.
@LittleTrifles@1GarethWynJones Why does that matter?
A large amount of ewes, likely in lamb have been killed by a dog with an ignorant owner.
A local councillor first posted it.
Totally preventable outcome.
@HFFurnitureUK@1GarethWynJones I’m sorry, you may think they’re trained and I’m sure they wouldn’t go after sheep but have you considered the stress to in lamb ewes even walking through a field with dogs may cause. Just don’t do it.
Thank you @DGVost and on the ground @dgcouncil teams, emergency partners, farmers, lone chainsaw heroes who have all more than stepped up today. Sleep well when it comes 🙌🤍🙌
Thanks for all your reports today of trees down and other incidents. Our live map at https://t.co/nuG5SuArsG details all of the reports that have been verified. Please continue to keep an eye on the map, and follow advice to not travel.

Transport Secretary @FionaHyslop chairs the latest meeting of key #RoadSafety partners to discuss ongoing efforts to cut deaths and injuries on Scotland’s roads.
@JamesMelville I personally don’t give a toot who thought this up, it’s wrong, a case of BSE was confirmed in Ayrshire today, people have very short memories of the impact of humans thinking they know best. This is just a deflection on the justified protests by farmers.
@TruthSignalUK Very sad, we have an Arla plant in my ward, our region is the largest dairy area in Scotland, cattle in our south west area are not the problem. I lived through BSE and wonder if we’ll ever learn not to introduce things that shouldn’t be consumed by cows.
@chilternbear11 I can recall the choice of ‘heating or eating’. Mum always cooked from scratch (taught me to do too) whilst holding down two jobs. Things were tough but I never felt poor and I’m sure nor did my parents.
@JMCDelingpole We don’t have a Waitrose locally, I’ve been buying organic for years now checking if they’re affected. I feel we’ve learnt nothing. Is this a BSE in the making?
