The pre-Vatican II Church was not a cold, indifferent 'spectator' of the world. Nor did it fail to call everyone to holiness while ignoring the 'joys and hopes' of the men of the modern age.

Yet this sort of language is how Ratzinger and others at the Council who wrote Gaudium et spes indirectly slandered preconciliar churchmen and laity. Consider that prior to the 1960s:

- Leo XIII inaugurated modern Catholic social teaching.
- St Pius X routinely wrote about Catholic Action.
- Pius XI reminded the world of the Social Kingship of Christ after WWI.
- Catholics in France were mobilizing against liberalism and secularism in the early 1900s.
- The Legion of Decency in the US fought immodesty in Hollywood.
- Our Lady's Blue Army prayed countless Rosaries
while Fr. Patrick Peyton was a household name.

The whitewashing of history that Vatican II's revolutionaries have done is a crime not merely against humanity but the Church itself.

@SeedOilDsrspctr It's still a thing. I have some beastly 6-10 TB hard drives that I defragment occasionally (they are mostly doing media storage). Solid State Drives don't need to do this, and trying to do it will shorten their life span.
