What fatuous bullshit. Do they actually have a kid at school ? I do, at a NSW co-ed state school, with no political agenda, and where the sex and gender education was factual, rational, balanced. This concocted garbage from Taylor and Canavan in an irresponsible insult to teachers…calumny and libel.
Mark Butler says the NDIS reforms are the toughest decisions he has had to make. Jordan Steele-John says that courage should have been used “to properly tax gas corporations and ask those with the greatest capacity to contribute their fair share”. https://t.co/avRcpgNXBm
One Nation wants to destroy the compulsory superannuation system, just like the Liberals and the Nationals.
They are all a threat to the retirement incomes and economic security of Australian workers.
Labor built Australia’s super system, and we’ll always defend it.
Young people in regional Victorian communities deserve access to the mental health support, healthcare and education they need, close to home.
Last month, the Albanese Government announced a new @headspace_aus outreach program for Ararat, helping those aged 12 to 25 access early intervention care without travelling long distances for support.
When we invest in the futures of regional young people, we strengthen their connection to their communities and give them more reasons to stay, contribute and build their futures locally.

👨 New 2026 clinical practice guidelines will help Australian men benefit from earlier prostate cancer detection and management, while reducing the risks of overdiagnosis and overtreatment.
Developed by the @PCFA and @CancerCouncilOz, the guidelines replace those released in 2016 and reflect the latest medical evidence and technology.
The Albanese Government provided a $770,000 grant to develop the guidelines, with a further $320,000 to the @RACGP to help implement an education and awareness program for doctors.
With around 28,000 Australians diagnosed each year and almost 4,000 deaths, prostate cancer is Australia's most commonly diagnosed cancer. You can read the full guidelines here:

This is what the Japanese are angry about. Not melons. It’s a major international story that the self-basting know-alls of the Australian media this morning have entirely ignored. If indeed they’re aware of it at all. https://t.co/tj9OHYqGOw
The Coalition left Australia with too much market power and too little consumer power.
Since 2022, Labor has overhauled merger laws, banned unfair trading practices and raised penalties for anti-competitive conduct.
Competition is good economics. And good for consumers. https://t.co/raVhxvXzQg #auspol
In May, the Australian Government listed the neo-Nazi group as the second prohibited hate group under new laws to stop organisations that spread hatred, radicalise young people and threaten social cohesion.
This week, the Parliamentary Joint Committee on Intelligence and Security tabled its report supporting the listing, finding the group meets the criteria under the Criminal Code and making membership, recruitment and funding for the group criminal offences.

When it comes to your children’s health, listen to doctors.
Not a president who once told Americans to inject bleach.
The American Academy of Pediatrics’ immunization recommendations have not changed.
Abuse, intimidation and violence have no place in our workplaces and every worker has the right to feel safe while doing their job.
The @SDAunion Victoria's 'Ban Aggressive Customers' campaign has helped drive real change, with the Ben Carroll State Government introducing legislation for Workplace Protection Orders, giving courts stronger powers to protect retail workers.
I was proud to stand in the Senate in support of this campaign and these important reforms because everyone deserves to go to work without fear and return home safely.

“Pauline Hanson confuses the role of journalists with that of a cheer squad, something a democracy such as Australia rejects,” writes Paul Bongiorno. “The freedom of the press is, after all, the ultimate safeguard against tyranny.”

Because Australia gives so much of our gas away for free, Japan gets it so cheap that it makes a profit selling it on to other countries!

Positive news out this week that ratings agency S&P Global has re-affirmed Australia’s AAA credit rating.
This is a powerful endorsement of the Government’s responsible economic and fiscal management at a time of extreme global uncertainty.
The measure of a society is how it invests in its children.
For decades, I have advocated for Head Start because every child deserves a strong start in life. Today, I stand with the more than 100 civil rights and child advocacy organizations opposing efforts to dismantle the program from within.
Head Start is more than preschool. It supports healthy babies, working parents, and stronger families.
You don't build a stronger nation by starving its children of opportunity.
This is a powerful endorsement of the Government’s responsible economic and fiscal management at a time of extreme global uncertainty.
S&P says “Australia's fiscal performance is sound” and “Australia has modest public debt by international standards.”
Australia remains one of only nine countries with a AAA sovereign credit rating from all three major ratings agencies and has lower gross debt than every major advanced economy.
Responsible economic management is the hallmark of the Albanese Labor Government and S&P’s report reinforces that.

For decades, they served with courage. They just weren't allowed to be who they were while doing it.
Many personnel served Australia with distinction while hiding, or being punished for, their sexual orientation or gender identity.
That's a wrong we can't undo. But we can make it right.
The Senate Foreign Affairs, Defence and Trade Legislation Committee has recommended further measures to address the harm caused by past discrimination against LGBTIQA+ personnel and veterans.
