Well that’s me moving over to Bluesky. Haven’t really paid too much attention to Twitter/X recently but seeing how Mr Musk is using it now for his own personal agenda is not acceptable in my eyes. I’m getting as far away from him as i can. #terrygirling.bsky.social
Peru increases anchovy fishing quota for “indirect human consumption”
Unfortunately the anchovies are more nutritious than the salmon they are turned into.
And for months on end, there are no Peruvian anchovies on supermarket shelves 🤷🏻

Neonicotinoids now shown to affect birds. Orientation adversely affected which impacts migration. Birth defects and reduced lifespan.
All of this in addition to the negative affects on our collapsing insect population.
Please @UKLabour , now is the time to step up.
Study shows #neonicotinoids are harmful to birds on all fronts...
And in their General Election manifesto, @UKLabour
promised to ban them permanently once and for all.
That ban can't come soon enough...

Given how much is known (seems more by the week) about the importance of our seabed as a carbon sink I hope @scotgov@ScotGovMarine @MairiGougeon are working on actions for protection instead of wasting money on consultations and reports which are never acted on. #InshoreLimit
Bottom trawlers devastate "protected" EU waters. Nets as big as football pitches scrape away reefs and destroy marine life. Urge @VSinkevicius and @vonderleyen to take action now and truly protect the seas. #BanBottomTrawling https://t.co/69T80QjFzF
And so it continues 😢 relentless scallop #dredging in an #MPA which is currently home to an assortment of #cetaceans incl. fin & humpback #whales, Risso's, white-beaked & common #dolphins. Please put the 'P' in MPA @scotgov & @Torcuil for the sake of 🐳🐬🐙🦞🐟🏴 #inshorelimit
“Sepa‘s primary task is to protect and enhance Scotland’s environment. It would be better able to do so if it had not been given the extra duty of promoting economic growth.”

2/2 Rural Housing Burdens are key for future community prosperity because the burden reactivates generation after generation, and Highlands Rewilding have committed to applying these in any sale. Great that the first RHBs in the Tayvallich area will be created.
The community in Tayvallich was concerned to hear of the proposed sales with a quick timeframe. Tayvallich Initiative is looking at options from the community perspective and will convene a community meeting to discuss. 1/2
With possibly a daily update from Westminster via the BBC? A daily 5 minute article on what each and everyone of us can do on an individual level to help mitigate the crisis? Makes it harder to keep your head in the sand !
Is there anyone credible out there can explain in simple terms why this isn’t a truly terrifying image? Like, why isn’t this headline news almost every day?
Escaped farmed salmon in Ireland are now entering the river Erriff and the Delphi.
Pictures below of the tail and dorsal fin of an escapee show the poor health of these farmed salmon.
These fish are carrying disease, straight into the territory of endangered wild fish.
Scotland's Marine P̵r̵o̵t̵e̵c̵t̵e̵d̵ Areas: We are calling on the @scotgov to keep their promise and finally protect our seabed on behalf of the people of Scotland!

Even having a local SNP councillor as a Director couldn’t save “Organic” Sea Harvest from having their applications rejected.
They are simply incapable of keeping their fish alive. People have had enough of it.
