Since yesterday a series of ENDF airstrikes have targeted various areas in Dera, Andabet, Fagita-Lekoma & Gonji-Qolela districts. Two of the attacks struck primary schools while students & teachers were present. Continued global apathy appears to have emboldened the Ahmed regime.
KNIFE'S EDGE: The U.S. Embassy in Ethiopia is warning Americans of "long-range attacks" on military installations in and around Addis Ababa, as analysts say the Horn of Africa is barreling toward a regional war that could drag in multiple nations and disrupt global shipping.
Ethiopia and Eritrea are at the center of the crisis. Reports of drone strikes on Ethiopia's capital — potentially backed by a foreign state — have rattled the region. A rebel coalition claimed responsibility for using drones, but a regional conflict analyst told Fox News Digital the weapons used exceed what domestic insurgent groups can field. Meanwhile, Eritrean troops have allegedly crossed into Ethiopian territory, and a coalition of Egypt, Sudan, Somalia, and Eritrea has formed what former CIA analyst Cameron Hudson calls "a veiled threat" against Ethiopia's ambitions in the Red Sea and on the Nile.
The State Department is urging both sides to stand down, but Hudson warns the Trump administration needs to act now to prevent a miscalculation that could spiral into a full-blown regional conflagration — one that would be felt far beyond Africa.

@BBCWorld@dagmawi_belay I talked to my family there in Addis and they told me “ወፍ የለም" meaning no explosion at all. Yes drone movement has been suspended indefinitely but no explosion. Abiy Ahmed is protecting himself not our people.

@EUinEthiopia When is the EU and the international community stop using the word “concerned”? The ENDF has been killing the Amhara people for years. No word. Now, a major war has erupted in every corner of the country but for EU it just a concern. It is time to be blunt and condemn the GVT

@jeffpropulsion Have you read Jeff’s piece in its entirety? I’m all for the unity, but I wouldn’t dismiss someone who spent much of the past decade fighting for Ethiopia. And calling him a “PP propagandist” is a cheap way to avoid his constructive arguments. If I had to guess, you are PP

@alulapan@inlibris_at That Bible is a treasure and to the Ethiopian people. The British government should take responsibility to stop the auction and place it where it belongs- the museum.
#Ethiopia 🇪🇹 Ethiopian authorities released hundreds of political prisoners on September 10 after they completed “rehabilitation training” and signed pardon documents. However, journalists Gobeze Sisay, Meskerem Abera, Genet Asmamaw, Dawit Begashaw, and Abay Zewdu remain imprisoned because they refused to sign letters accepting responsibility for the conflict in the Amhara region, letters they consider self-incriminating.
The five journalists have been detained since 2023 on terrorism charges connected to their reporting. CPJ calls on Ethiopian authorities to release them immediately and unconditionally.
