The Ethiopian government has undergone a drone strike on civilian infrastructure in the town of Enticho located in Tigray this this morning, Local sources say there are civilian casualties.

The war in Tigray has resumed The drone strikes that is going on for some time have officially began in the Tigray . Several directions were bombed this morning. The media, the administration and the TPLF are still avoiding the war and talking about other topics. However, for two days now, it seems that the war is spreading.

The old war has changed. Now, Ethiopia uses various drones, some of which explode in targeted areas

🚨 The drone attacks have reportedly started - see the pictures coming from the Enticho area of Tigray central zone. Unless this is stopped before it gets out of control, the humanitarian crisis and the loss of lives is going to be scarily devastating!

I’m heartbroken and disappointed that Abiy’s regime didn’t heed the advise,reportedly given, by the US Dupty Sec of State @DeputySecState and @USAfricaCommand

People who were visiting Tigray are now stranded in Tigray due to @flyethiopian cancelling flights to all airports in Tigray. The sad news is that the airline is selling tickets that wouldn’t honor to its customers- not surprising since same airline is used to transport Ethiopian military personnel and equipment.

Banks are also cash dry which created economic anxiety in the region.

When does the US say enough?

The Abiy regime is going to need public warning and advisory by the US to stop killing its people. I do believe that you may have advised Abiy to avoid war and respect the #PretoriaAgreement. However, given its history, the leadership in Ethiopia respects a more public warning like what @RepGregoryMeeks and his team did recently. The statement by @_AfricanUnion is also another development though it can be seen as too little too late for an organization that enables the 2020-2022 genocidal war against Tigray. I have lost family, friends and more- women’s health research infrastructure, data and trainees from my years of global health work.

If the US can threaten Iran for repression of its people, it’s not hard to argue that Abiy’s Ethiopia is doing much worse- bombing civilians in Tigray, Amhara and Oromia regions- home to above 60 million people.

Do these folks recognize:
- there is cash drought due to the embargo placed by Abiy on any cash flow to Tigray including denying civil servants their salaries:
- Flights to Tigray are all suspended
- there are millions in IDP camps without any means of subsistence since USAID and other charity organizations stopped operating in Tigray
- there is blockade of commodities and fuel not to enter Tigray from other parts of Ethiopia
- there is an imminent threat of returning to war due to the Abiy’s regime violations of the COHA Pretoria agreement. Already some skirmishes have taken place in some border areas including Western Tigray- where the US government declared crimes of Ethnic cleansing in 2021.
- Amidst all these US officials are showing off taking pictures with leaders who have committed genocide and an air force that killed thousands of people with its fighter jets and drones.

Tigray Civilians Terrorized as Ethiopia Intensifies Drone Strikes

At least one person was killed and another injured when an Ethiopian drone hit two commercial trucks in Enticho town, Central #Tigray Zone. In a separate incident, a second drone strike was reported near Gendebta.

Drone Strikes in Inticho and Gendebta, Tigray

Tonight, between 3:30 and 4:00 AM local time, a drone attack was carried out targeting two Isuzu cargo trucks according to Tigray state media. The trucks sustained damage. One driver lost his life, while one assistant (helper) was injured.

The Inticho town administration stated that the Isuzu trucks were transporting bananas and coffee.

Authorities warned that this incident could result in similar damage elsewhere and urged the public to exercise caution in all their general movements and activities.

Another drone strike occurred at 5:30 AM in the Gendebta area, specifically around Inda Mariam Shewito. The strike targeted a vehicle carrying pepper and other goods.

Mariam Shewito is one of the locations that was a major site of massacres during the 2020–2022 war.

This marks the first drone attack officially reported by Tigray state media since the signing of the Pretoria Agreement in November 2022.
