I want to offer a lifeboat to disabled and queer people worried about having a safe place to go if Twitter has outages soon. I know Mastodon has issues and isn't a perfect replacement, nothing is, but I can assure active moderation and welcoming folks at https://t.co/tGxAtYs09G.
@UnarmedOracle Sucks that it's come to that. If you ever have any interest in trying out Mastodon, I'm happy to help you get settings and apps configured to your needs.
@easlgrundle@MixtUpMixy If the regular size VFlex isn't a good fit, they also have a small size. The cheapest place I've found those is shipped and sold by Walmart:

@easlgrundle@MixtUpMixy The Breathe Right strips also aren't usually viable for daily wear, as the strong adhesive pulling off so frequently can irritate the skin.
My spouse has nasal structure restrictions, and the VFlex is the only one that works without pinching/restricting their nostrils.
@easlgrundle@MixtUpMixy Both models do a good job staying in place during movement and talking, but the Dräger holds position better due to its nose foam and the construction of its panels and their reinforcing arches.
@easlgrundle@MixtUpMixy The VFlex is the lowest breathing resistance N95 available, and the Dräger is only a bit more restrictive. Both are lower resistance than a 3M Aura or any cup-style model.
The VFlex also doesn't have any nose foam, in case she has a sensitivity to that.
@michael_hoerger@crosscutanne@sri_srikrishna@masknerd Have you considered the 3M VFlex for your lineup?
In my own experience, the Dräger 1950 or 3M VFlex have worked for 70+% of folks I've helped test masks.
Each of those people generally also had other options that fit well or sometimes better, but one of these two still worked.
@Jackk1372742@FitTestMyPlanet While there are certainly other respirators that are MRI-safe, those three all ship to the UK and have documentation you can show the tech. Plus, if you bring along a spare, they're easy to show to the tech for them to verify there's no metal.
@Jackk1372742@FitTestMyPlanet Other metal-free respirator options are most frequently pre-formed cup shapes with a foam inner seal. This includes two UK models with MRI-safe documentation.

@WakeUpSuper@sharp_cookies That is really good advice - rest is your best friend. My spouse has Covid induced autoimmune issues and fatigue. As a result I've done a bunch of research into over-the-counter options to reduce the likelihood of developing Long Covid and to support during and after infection.
@WitchyTQ I was asked by @LonelyTex to share this update with you and your community. However, I don't have access to your Discord, so I'd ask you to pass this along to them, please.
Y'all know @LonelyTex so I'm sharing an update at his request.
He was in a car accident Wednesday resulting in a spinal injury. The extent of it and whether it will require surgery may not be known for days.
His family also asked that I share this GoFundMe

He's fortunate that his car took the vast majority of the damage, as a reckless driver forced him off the highway into a barrier, totaling his car.
If any of y'all are in other spaces with him, you're welcome and encouraged to share this update with folks there. Thank you.

He has feeling and strength everywhere, and his pain is well managed with meds while lying down, but sitting and standing are too painful for anything but required tests and imaging at the moment.
Reminder again that I’m posting on Masto now. Signing up is even easier now. It’s nice!
