@LanceForman you are as compelling as a lobbyist for the tobacco companies denying smoking causes cancer - nobody gets to choose what international law is, the fact Israel "disputes" it is neither here nor there
@AllisterHeath the difference
- British govt does not support rape gangs
- French govt does not support paedophilia
- Israeli govt supports settlers/forced displacement of Palestinians https://t.co/Casseb6i5I
@AllisterHeath cut the bullshit and be honest - you support Israeli settlers' right to settle anywhere in the West Bank they can find a toehold, right?
@BoomerBUp@Ed_Miliband I do and know he is, you apparently don't, otherwise you'd not question his legal and moral right to speak for UK Govt on behalf of UK
@CitySamuel π€£π€£π€£ - are you seriously suggesting it's not in British interests for UK Govt. to (a) stand up for international law (b) mark UK condemnation of West Bank settler violence condoned by current Israeli govt?
@LBC it's not a valid critique of the merits of any govt policy to suggest it's done for political motives - political conduct is always done, at least in part, for political motives. the key question is always whether the policy is the best way of achieving a legitimate goal.
one of the traditional best arguments for capitalism (which Marx himself made) was that it led to the fastest development of the 'means of production'. AI is turning that argument on its head - when it comes to AI, society needs to slow the rate of development way the fuck down.
