In the case of humans, it's impossible to permit one without the other.

Bad faith critics would shift to a next-most-convenient criticism or retroactively claim they meant that weak definition of vaporware (which can't have a negative connotation)

It actually refers to software that one expects will never be released or will be released in a form that doesn't match the advertising.
