@Tanto0330@EdoEiv10@Davey_Hudson@ahscherer The problem is nobody except Sam and LSU know what the truth is. You can't fine someone for assumptions.
Unless the SEC goes in and has medical tests performed to prove he's fine, doubtful leaves room for him to play, so there's not really a leg to stand on.
@Tanto0330@EdoEiv10@Davey_Hudson@ahscherer So, just to be clear, we're saying the school should be fined if he plays because they're saying there's only a 25% chance he could play.
@Danbredneck@noone1174445@Taydean@On3 You don’t win well enough relative to your ranking. #10 shouldn’t be going down to the wire with #25 (not using accurate rankings, just an example).
Ole Miss just didn’t look that impressive compared to Louisville, so it’s not crazy.
@JackD_Vol@JBLSU07 I agree it should have been addressed as a blanket waiver, and I don’t agree with them coming back. I just think they have a point, and from this point onward, anyone who declares doesn’t have the excuse that "well I didn’t know I would have eligibility remaining"
@JackD_Vol@JBLSU07 They would have had a year left of eligibility under the 5 in 5 rule, so they’re saying they should get to play under the rule that the NCAA approved. If it was enacted a couple months earlier, none of these guys would have gone pro.
@JackD_Vol@JBLSU07 I mean that’s simply not true because of the 5 in 5 rule. It’s not about letting NFL players return at its heart. It’s about these class of 2022 being told they have no choice but to go to the NFL and then watching the NCAA change the rule a couple months later.
@hofle_t@soitgoeslexi Simply have a defined appeals process like every other professional sport in the world and none of this is ever an issue. It’s a problem of your own making. Belgium shouldn’t be afraid of Flo Balogun anyways. Gotta beat the best to be the best.
@hofle_t@soitgoeslexi And now Belgium gets to appeal. That’s the process I’m talking about. You should get to have your say on a decision that shouldn’t have been made. You’re arguing for rules to be upheld on a red card that was issued using broken rules. Let both sides argue their case.
@hofle_t@soitgoeslexi Well that’s where we disagree. A referee's bad decision should have an independent process where it can be overturned. FIFA wrote the rules so that can’t happen but we’ve ended up there, just with a lot more drama. It works fine in every US sport so I really don’t see an issue.
@hofle_t@soitgoeslexi Speaking as if Infantino hasn’t ruined it several times over. In a list of his most corrupt acts as president of FIFA, rescinding a red card wouldn’t scratch the top 25.
@hofle_t@soitgoeslexi They wrote the rules so that there was room for them to step in, they have done so, and Belgium has been allowed to appeal. If you’re upset about the process, thats tough. They broke their rules to award the red and are using their rules as written to rescind it.
@hofle_t@soitgoeslexi Ronaldo had his 3 game ban for violent conduct reduced to 1 using the same rule solely so he could play in Portugal's group stage matches, so it’s not just us.
@chattysburner@CapitalistTroll@General_Gainey The GM of the Chicago Wolves is an AGM for the Canes, man. I get not wanting to be associated with him but the Hurricanes org made that signing, like it or not.
@Uttxswimmer@UrinatingTree Vegas was a genuinely good team in the regular season with bottom 5 goaltending. The goalie starts playing well and they’re winning games, it makes sense.
@milehisnk1@crookedchair69@ThomasDrance It was a loophole that everyone could take advantage of. I never hear anybody talking about those Tampa cups when they were doing the exact same thing a lot of the time. The team on the ice for their cup was cap compliant, so it’s not like anyone has a leg to stand on there.
