A charity promoting patient & public advocacy, community, awareness & education to mobilise collective action against Antimicrobial Resistance #theAMRnarrative
AMR, or Antimicrobial Resistance, is a natural phenomenon where infection-causing microorganisms (germs) such as bacteria, viruses, fungi, and parasites evolve to become resistant to the antimicrobial medicines that were designed to treat them. These antimicrobial medicines include antibiotics, antifungals, antivirals and antiparasitics.
AMR is a global health emergency, yet most patients and the public have never heard of it before. It is important that we can all play a role in protecting these life-saving medicines so they continue to work when we need them most.
We've created this short video which explains the basics of AMR.

Bhakti Chavan and @MSF are our #AMRChampions!
She went through rounds of #AntibioticTherapy to no avail as she had drug-resistant TB until MSF stepped in with a new drug.
She chose to share her story so people can know more about this threat, and that's no small feat

We can prevent #infections. We can identify sepsis earlier & provide timely treatment. We can strengthen health systems, equip & train healthcare professionals, advance diagnostics & treatment, & ensure that everyone has access to quality sepsis care when they need it most.

How do we know what to fight if #surveillance is insufficient?
The data says we have done really well, but in comparison to the gaps? We have a lot of work to do.
How far do you think we have gone with this objective?

"AMR is often described as a 'silent pandemic', but for those living with it, the experience is anything but silent." – @theAMRnarrative#PreventAMRTogether
From evidence → action.

Today is #HandHygieneDay!
Clean hands are one of the most effective ways to prevent infections and slow the spread of antimicrobial resistance (AMR). Every infection prevented is one less opportunity for resistance to develop.
