Peace begins in the human heart, passes through relationships, takes root in neighborhoods and peripheries, and expands until it embraces the entire city and the world. Peace is built by promoting a culture that rejects violence, through daily gestures, education, and practical acts of justice. #PastoralVisit #Naples
No religion on earth has ever honored women as much as Christianity does.
Christian marriage honours both men and women
In a world where women were often property, Christianity declared:
“Husbands, love your wives, as Christ loved the Church and gave Himself up for her” - Ephesians 5, 25
This is sacrificial love. Placing the wife's good above self, like Christ did for us. Marriage became a mutual path to holiness, not exploitation. It became a road for mutual sanctification.
Christ included women in his ministery
>He revealed He was the Messiah firstly to the Samaritan woman at the well (John 4).
>He welcomed Mary of Bethany to “sit at His feet” as a disciple (Luke 10,39). A role traditionally reserved for men.
>Women were the first witnesses of the Resurrection, the cornerstone of our faith (Matthew 28, 1-10)
Countless Christian women have changed and shaped society for the better.
>Isabel la Catolica, Queen of Castille, finished the Reconquista
>St. Monica’s prayers converted St. Augustine.
>St. Macrina the Younger shaped the minds of her brothers, Sts. Basil and Gregory of Nyssa.
>St. Catherine of Siena advised popes and reformed the Church.
Not to mention the 4 female doctors of the Church: Hildegard of Bingen, Catherine of Siena, Teresa of Ávila, Thérèse of Lisieux.
The greatest created being of all time? A Woman.
The Blessed Virgin Mary, the Mother of God, the Most Holy Theotokos, holds the highest place of honor among all created beings. She's above all the angels and all the saints.
Like the Archangel Gabriel says "You are blessed among women" (Luke 1,42). She is the new Eve, which without there would be no salvation of mankind.
No other faith on earth places a woman on such an exalted role.
“A woman gave birth to the Savior of the world. Tell me of a religion that can match that honor.”
Renowned Batman writers Frank Miller and Chuck Dixon have suggested in interviews that the character of Batman has Catholic influences.
This interpretation is reflected in the Dark Knight’s moral struggles and deep-seated sense of justice, which often guide his actions.
"Graham (Nolan) and I had an ongoing argument about whether Bruce Wayne was raised a Catholic or a Protestant. I recently conceded to Graham that he must be a Catholic. No Protestant ever suffered guilt the way Bruce does." – Chuck Dixon
