@ajee_Utd Ferguson was told to back off - on several occasions - once even through a contact made with Keane when he was home
But Ferguson mixed up being good at football management with being more powerful than 2 successful millionaires who owned almost 30% of his employer
Guess who won
@TheAthleticFC Been obvious since his great Amorim appointment that Wilcox is in it over his head.
Irony is it took Amorim calling him out that led to him losing his job about 12 months too late
But Wilcox going will change little really. Next guy will still be scrounging for “bargains”
@FrankEra_ United are a farce and it’s not down to Carrick (limited as he is). It’s 💯 down to the hierarchy which includes the board and Jason “was good at Southampton” Wilcox
Wilcox is in over his head. He needs to go but him going alone won’t change anything.
@DaleJohnsonBBC Ignores the impact on finances for the teams that finished second to them each time - sponsorship bonuses, higher commercial revenue as a result of being champions etc.
I’m guessing hard to quantify but I’m sure the clubs effected are looking at it
@MiguelDelaney@LozNewman8 So you’re into your team the way everyone else is Loz - big swinging….
Fact is city
a) cheated
b) were caught and
c) everyone with a brain knew about it for years
How long is the stench of the “sham” going to corrode the meaning, worth, and very essence of the Premier League?
Listening to commentary about Manchester City’s players matching the defiance of their ownership and triumphing in adversity.
Listening to fans chorusing the names of the men running the club, wearing masks or displaying banners of their faces and jibing: “We’re Man City, we’ll cheat when we want.”
Victory being framed as “a lovely moment,” a show of togetherness as though some grave injustice has been imposed on City, rather than their hierarchy being found by an independent commission to have orchestrated financial doping on an industrial scale.
Their opponents and the rest of us wondering if any of this actually matters now and how much of it ever did?
There can be no business as usual pretence. We need a full stop to the absurdity.
@premierleague@ManCity Seriously??
You’ve just found them guilty of 114 charges of cheating and you’re applauding them??
At least try to pretend you’re not corrupt
@bigmickey1@terrychristian@StretfordPost Sorry Michael - don’t buy that. United are still the biggest club the England. It could take 15 years but, like Arsenal, they will win it again and hopefully build a dynasty from there.
None of the players you name above (even Bruno on current form) would make arsenals bench
@bigmickey1@terrychristian@StretfordPost Michael - do you really believe any of these would start for a team that’s won the PL? They wouldn’t have got close to any United starting line up I’ve ever known. Squad players or those who might have been considered for a home game against Derby with a CL game on Tuesday maybe
@terrychristian@StretfordPost Quiet simple really - United have a squad of, at best, mid table journeymen such as Cunha and Dalot, some aging top level players such as Maguire and Shaw and one or 2 possible stars of the future. No manager can make that challenge.
….but Amorim? The greatest fraud ever
@BoxinPhilosophy@AkaPaulHoward Eh no they didn’t
Juventus fixed which referees would have their games - they didn’t pay off the refs. It was cheating but in the same way as breaking financial regulations to overspend by £800m
Say it was a women’s game but city were allowed field men - consider that fair?
