Making his 2nd MLB start yesterday, LHP Quinn Mathews struck out the first three batters of the game (all swinging) for just the 4th time in his professional career. He ended with 7 SO in 4.0 IP in the #STLCards 2-1 win.

@gatewaygrinders People will put the blame elsewhere by Masyn Winn absolutely needs to be held accountable for missing that sign on the double steal. If he doesn’t, he scores on the Torres hit and we don’t lose the game on a solo homer.
@Showmeprod1gy@Jandystl Totally agree. No reason you should I’ve missing a sign like that in the Major Leagues. He needs to be held accountable. We lost the game because of him.
@DealinTheCards I absolutely hate Baez at leadoff. I feel like much of the appeal of Baez thus far has been the power threat of him hitting behind high OBP guys consequently gives them better stuff to hit. Not sure putting him behind Pereira, Pages, and Jordan helps you much with his chase.
@STL_Stats_Facts This is such an awesome post because almost all of these names started the year in A+. The development and progression of these guys has been way ahead of schedule and yet they continue to produce at elite levels. There’s so much to be excited about with this org rn.
Just gonna leave this here:
Contreras w/ STL: 1416 PA
.261/.358/.817, 55 HR, 183 RBI, 24.7% K rate, $54 million
Herrera since he debuted at 21 y/o: 1249 PA
.269/.367/.781, 36 HR, 142 RBI, 19.1% K rate, $3.2 million
Herrera won’t be a FA til 2030. Let’s all chill.

@jmjones @AHenderson0311 I can’t take it anymore Jeff. At what point do we acknowledge that Oli Marmol is not managing to give his team the best chance to win these games.
