It's more than one thing, but there's a clear theme; politics stopped being about public and national service. It became more about unbridled cronyism, it became more party-political, no one was there to serve the common person anymore. That went by the board. Instead, big global & wealth interests were served- not the needs of the people. The world became more global, but the high street was hit. 2/
