A highly dysfunctional team sees other roles and departments within the same organisation as not part of the team.
A BRILLIANT team sees other roles and departments within the same organisation as part of the team.
This shift in mindset is everything for leadership and culture.
@InnovationMatt I heard this recently from a contact whoโd been hired on an agreement for compressed hours. This has suddenly been revoked because the business doesnโt want anyone working longer than 9-5.
Instead of initiating a 4 day week?!?!?
We did it! The Flexible Working Bill has become law and will come into effect in 2024. What will this mean for you as an employee?

@InnovationMatt Working my second role โinโ Scotland while Iโm physically in Southampton, I couldnโt agree more.
In my last long contract I hired to many roles. Having UK instead of London opened up the talent pool and I had colleagues from Glossop, Leeds, Oxford, Fareham, all over!
Among my favourite things about working โin Scotlandโ is that when colleagues refer to โdown southโ, they mean England.
Living in Southampton, Iโm used to โdown southโ referring to the bit under Birmingham.
Itโs the small things.

โIโm a young carer, AND a volunteer for this a charity. If Iโve got the time to give enough of a shit about the future of this charity, every single paid member of staff and trustee should too.โ
Often, we frame our change activities in a challenging way: "break the rules", "confront the status quo", "daring to fail & learn" etc. Why don't we flip this & just give ourselves permission to do things? I'm inspired by these "permission slips" from @kwiens. What do you give yourself permission to do, individually & as a team? Download the slips for free at https://t.co/PpmKpASqZW

Last year 14,000 young people told the Government the changes they want to see to the mental health system. Now the Government is calling for more evidence for a different strategy. Young people have been waiting too long. This is a crisis. Itโs urgent. We need action, not talk.
