It would be funny if it weren't so tragic. Back when Fred Rwigyema and his brothers-in-arms created the RPF, dreaming of a new Rwanda, did they ever imagine Kagame - the skinny guy no one liked or trusted - wd end up president for life, claiming to win 99.15 pct of the vote?
That interesting moment when you are told that the three years of online harassment you've experienced was both state-organised and professionally contracted out. https://t.co/AWmVrFc93t
"Rwanda has no interest in creating conflict with our neighbours". Astonishing statement as Rwanda has been in conflict, at one time or another, with all of its four neighbours since 1994. Resumption of precolonial practices, when Rwanda was an aggressive state.
I'm waiting to see more evidence, but every Rwandan I talk with believes this was poison. Sadly that is also very consistent with the m.o. of the Rwandan government. Rest in Peace #Anne_Rwigara
𝐀𝐍𝐎𝐓𝐇𝐄𝐑 𝐏𝐑𝐎𝐌𝐈𝐍𝐄𝐍𝐓 𝐑𝐖𝐀𝐍𝐃𝐀𝐍 𝐃𝐈𝐄𝐒.
Just before 2024 elections in Rwanda, #AnneRwigara complained of stomach cramps and in 24hrs she experienced multiple organ failure and died, feeding the speculation that she was poisoned.
Anne’s father also died in what many say was a staged traffic accident before the family’s wealth was taken after a fall out of with the government of that country.
Similar deaths of people like #KizitoMihigo, #RevocatKaramangingo, #PatrickKarigeya and many others who died either in traffic accidents, shootings, strangulations or poisonings in exile have sparked speculation that these people are being eliminated.
BREAKING: When a judge today asked Donald Trump if his claim that Mike Pence had the right to refuse to certify Biden's victory also means that Kamala Harris has the right to refuse certifying the election if he wins in 2024, Trump froze for 7 seconds before saying “No.”
This is the part of the Rwanda asylum story no Conservative MP is ever interested in discussing: what Rwanda is doing in eastern Congo, where its puppet rebel group has created a massive humanitarian crisis. Human Rights Watch's latest report on the M23: https://t.co/gNWlJKxSwH
“The president of Rwanda Paul Kagame is like the Putin of Africa”
Political activist Bill Browder says the idea of sending “political refugees” to Rwanda is “absurd”

Researchers estimate that if the top 1% of Americans paid the full amount of taxes they owed, it would raise $175 billion a year.
That’s just UNPAID taxes. Not new or higher taxes.
How about we make them pay their fair share and use the money to invest in the American people?
Freedom House lists Rwanda as one of the six worst practitioners of transnational repression in its yearly report, just out. It's the only African state in that group. Stunning that James Cleverly has just deemed Rwanda a safe place and worthy partner. https://t.co/Fg0JnKKvGC
Inflation rose 14% between July 2020 and July 2022.
But corporate profits rose by 75% over those two years — five times as fast as inflation.
Don’t tell me corporations have no choice but to raise prices.
The sinking foreign aid and currency depreciation are hitting Kagame’s Singapore of Africa mightily. Between 2019 and 2023, US aid to Rwanda shrunk by nearly 50%. This has dire consequences for Rwanda’s basic health &HIV/AIDS whose US support fell by 50%.

At the @washingtonpost Global Women’s Summit @AnaiseKanimba talks about what Rwandans are subject to under the authoritarian regime: “In Rwanda any body who speaks the truth, says what the gov doesn’t want to hear finds themselves in prison.Often they don’t have any due process ”
Suella Braverman, the champion of Britain's project to send asylum-seekers to Rwanda, is summarily sacked just two days before the Supreme Court is due to announce whether that policy is legal or not. Interesting times! https://t.co/8oDmcM78iK
The upward redistribution of wealth over the past 40 years has shifted $50 trillion from the bottom 90% to the top 1%. That’s $50 trillion that would have gone into the paychecks of working Americans.
The greatest trick of all is trickle-down economics.
