@niceupdog that's why OuterTune (free + YT music reskined + premium features jailbrokken) & a SteamDeck (or alikke) absolutely rock, no softlocks or weird extra steps to go through to listen to downloaded music & play your own damn games
@PCMR_Elitist my desktop & laptop are on CachyOS (at work I use micro$lop products against my will) but I do have a [C U B E] on which I'm running SteamOS that goes with my TV or anywhere with an outlet really

So, the Steam Machine (GabeCube) launched, sadly not a good value.
Thankfully I made my own GeekCube instead: 9600X/32GB/9060XT 16GB
~7 months project, parts bought pre-RAM crisis, screen/audio, DVD read, 3D print case & SteamOS

@bspinef@FumTheRaccoon idea for your game: add in a position editor and a clothing editor (maybe even unlockable based on in-game progress?), save the result to a .3mf/.STL for 3D printing
@MrScience193@JuanCha1228@harukaze5719 First: the 7600 is the 7th most used AMD GPU of the SHWS
Second: I'm not talking about the 7600 (PCIe cards), I'm talking about the 7600M (BGM soldered), of which really really really few laptop models were shipped with, though it did get put in a bunch of eGPUs and mini PCs
@MrScience193@JuanCha1228@harukaze5719 I honestly don't think they're making any significant profit on it, same with the 7600M, these weren't gonna go anywhere in decent enough volume since laptop makers didn't want to make all AMD laptops
AMD found someone willing to get them rid of their stock and Valve needed a GPU
@theterk This is a pretty cool Box, can it take the same front panels as the Machine?
I can't exchange the front on mine but it's alright, I got better use out of that flat area :)

@MrScience193@JuanCha1228@harukaze5719 no, they're unsold units, not "rejected" ones
and even rejects have possible value so they're not thrown, they're shelved until a manufacturer shows up and asks for something any product in storage might fit the requirements for
@Trastewere@harukaze5719 I honestly don't feel 750 would be a bad price, you get PS5 performance, more modern hardware & features in an *unmatcheable* form factor that sips power, inaudible & discreet without being locked into a single store front & freedom to use it for whatever you could possibly want
@roadtothemax@harukaze5719 nobody ever said so, I haven't seen a single review explicitly mentioning the presence of Zen4c cores, the spec sheet only mention one core type and one frequency and there is no indication that Valve worked on core scheduling at any point

@Trastewere@harukaze5719 why would it be an APU? every part of the specs was already known for the past 8 months since the announcement, it was published on the Machine's page
a custom APU design like the PS5's would have cost too much to make instead of just using unsold mobile inventory AMD had on hand
