@thomasmahler Sounds great to me, NRFTW feels like it's taking classic game frameworks and exploring what those original designs COULD be now, as opposed to just drilling down into the same explored framework. and trying to re-do the same ARPGs/Souls-likes. Can't wait to see it!
Folks,
We're still in the midst of Class System design. We reached a point where there's finally a light at the end of the tunnel, but... getting there has been quite the challenge to say the least.
This is an insanely complex system that will finally deliver what we've never seen before in the ARPG space.
Traditional ARPGs like Diablo, PoE, etc. still rely on their abstracted combat that has you just murderously hammer mouseclicks without much depth. This has been a long-standing design problem for these titles since there's just not enough design space to combat power creep, so in endgame your brain turns to mush and the whole game devolves into just wiping the screen as fast as possible, no matter what class you're actually playing.
Souls-likes tackle the combat design, but then usually fall flat when it comes to buildcraft systems (2 players wielding a Claymore and the same equips will basically have the same exact build).
We've never seen a game that manages to combine the best of both worlds.
That was our challenge - Encourage a multitude of playstyles that thematically fit each class while giving the player a toolbox that allows them to fulfill all their potential class fantasies. You can become any class you want in Wicked - you'll just have to play enough to actually earn it! 🤣
I've dropped a first preview of what we're doing into our discourse yesterday.
I'd very much appreciate any feedback we can get. You can read up on that here:

We'll test this thoroughly with our community through private and public test realms in order to nail balance and depth before 1.0 hits.
I still remain convinced that when we finally fully solved this puzzle and got all the pieces fully locked-in together, No Rest for the Wicked's system design will be seen as a breakthrough because it finally delivers on the promise that we've all been dreaming about since the 90s.
And given the state of the AAA industry at the moment, it's hard to see any studio being crazy enough to do what we've done any time soon.
Can't wait to get this all into your folks' hands - Very exciting times ahead! 👍❤️

“Young Bob” doesn’t have a job and yet he’s always up and down the country in taxis, on trains, filming with various expensive bits of camera equipment by his own account. Where’s that pocket money coming from? Who is footing the bill to keep his gob flapping?

In the UK if you honestly express favourable views about activist groups the government dislikes loyalty squads take you to the gulag for cognitive recalibration. Inquisitors often ask people if they support dissidents to test their mindless loyalty to the regime
I don't mean to sound hysterical, but it's exceedingly obvious that the social media ban, the PA proscription, and the assisted dying bill are all unified moves by a government with no intention of bettering people's lives, only snuffing out dissent.
After a lifelong career in "justice," all these people have ended up doing is the government's dirty political work to cover up for a genocide.
I feel like I've just watched two court cases which were nothing more than pre-decided political theatre.
The British oil company that became BP discovered Iran's oil. When Iranians realized they were being robbed, they nationalized it — so MI6 & CIA toppled their democracy in 1953, installing a dictatorship. Iranians rose up in 1979 & the West has never forgiven them for it.
Their lawyers requested prosecutors hand over information held on their recruiter, including whether they were associated with British intelligence services or a state agent, and where they were based. The judge ruled this "wholly irrelevant" to the trial 🧐🧐🧐🧐🧐
