@ConnorNFLDraft I don’t see how picking a defensive interior guy makes sense when they already have 3 good to great interior defensive lineman and a bunch of Druskis playing every other position on defense
Cowboys owner Jerry Jones invited local reporters on his luxury bus tonight in Indianapolis to talk for over an hour. Here were the highlights of that conversation:
- Had a positive talk with George Pickens on Thursday notifying him of the franchise tag. Continued to say that he is firm on having Pickens be a part of the team’s future
- Does not have any issues with David Mulugheta. Calls him “accomplished” and that he plans on working on with him
- Says the team will be aggressive in free agency. He made sure to emphasize that “busting the budget” will be mostly on defense. “Expect me to borrow some of my future.”
- Wants to make Brandon Aubrey the highest-paid kicker. Has an offer on the table that reflects that
- Has “the ammunition” to be active in the trade market on defense
- Actively working on lowering ‘26 cap hits for all three of Quinnen Williams, Kenny Clark and Osa Odighizuwa
- Isn’t interested in taking on any more “redshirt” projects in the draft. Wants players that can play immediately. Brian Schottenheimer alluded to that this week too
- Called fixing the defense “a big challenge” and that there is still work to do on offense
- Looking forward to seeing a fully healthy DeMarvion Overshown & Shavon Revel Jr.
- Sees improvement coming for Donovan Ezeiruaku under new scheme
- Alluded to regretting letting Jourdan Lewis walk last offseason. “He wouldn’t get out [of Dallas] this year.”
- Teared up talking about his desire to get another Super Bowl. Called it his biggest desire aside from health of family & friends. “Nothing has as big a prize to me.”
- Called Javonte Williams a “top two or three” offensive player from 2025
@RealMYoung23 I feel more optimistic about Schroder/Ellis/Tyson than Jerome/Okoro/Hunter
But you are right that the reality is that they simply don’t have a playoff caliber SF
Charles Barkley on LeBron James: "There's one thing I'm sure of- this is his last year with the Lakers. He's not going to play with the Lakers next year. I've always said I'd like to see him finish in Cleveland. I'm not opposed to him getting traded to Cleveland this year." #NBA
@B1G_Ryan Sucks how money always wins
There’s no universe where the 24th best team would ever win a championship
Completely ruins the idea of playoffs only being for deserving teams
But the powers that be care more about it being a money maker rather than actually respecting the sport
@JordanZirm I get not wanting him as a HC, but wanting a full cleanse just for the sake of it makes no sense
Browns have had great defenses 2 of the past 3 years
Joe Woods had pretty similar personnel to now and completely ruined it, so don’t say “Anyone could be DC with this personnel”
@PFF_Nicky Bro’s a Super Bowl winning coach and still uses the “CATCH THE BALL” coaching philosophy you see with bad youth football coaches
You hate to see it
