The darkness over many parts of Havana is not just a blackout. It's the slow execution of the Cuban people by Trump and Rubio. As I walk through it's streets and I see each unlit window, it's a family forced to live in this terrible heat, for days without water, unable to store food, without sleep under a genocide engineered from Washington. This is state-sanctioned cruelty disguised as policy, a calculated campaign to crush a people into submission and force regime change. The world must stop looking away. The Cuban people deserve to live, not just survive, free from Trump's chokehold. Enough is enough!
The Sameer Project is having to pause operations due to lack of funds, meaning upwards of 9,000 are going to be going without food every single day until they can afford to reopen.
I just donated. Who will match my donation to keep this vital operation going?
The Sameer Project started from a desire to help our Palestinian people differently - with dignity, without conditions, and in a way that returned agency instead of creating dependency.
We continued because the genocide continued.
And now, we are devastated to say that The Sameer Project is being forced to pause our daily operations.
Not because the need has decreased. Because the money has run out.
We are panicking. We are stressed. We are heartbroken because we know exactly what this pause means for the people who rely on us.
Mothers still need to feed their children. Families still need drinking water. The elderly and sick still need medication. People are still being killed in airstrikes and shootings while the occupation continues to manufacture deprivation by restricting aid.
We have always been an emergency response group. When you donated, we spent that money immediately on people who needed help NOW. We did not save it for some predictable tomorrow, because in Gaza tomorrow has never been promised.
Now we are reaching a point we never wanted to reach: we do not have enough coming in to keep responding.
This pause is not administrative. It is not harmless. When food, water, medicine, transportation, and emergency assistance disappear, people can die.
We desperately need you to understand the urgency of this moment.
Please help us restart operations. Please donate. Please share. Please do not let Gaza lose another lifeline.
In the coming days we will share with you exactly how to be part of the solution - how to bring The Sameer Project back. The need did not stop and neither can we. Stand with us…

Come prevedibile e previsto.
I have endured 41 days without a bathroom or kitchen. I am hoping for someone to see this. All I ask you is to share because my father cannot endure another day.
A painful first anniversary… A previous scene of slain journalist Anas Al-Sharif with his daughter, Sham.
One year ago, Israel assassinated Al-Sharif in a targeted strike on a journalists' tent near Al-Shifa Hospital in Gaza City, alongside five colleagues.
He had kept reporting through bombardment, starvation and immense loss, knowing the risks.

A hot, tasty meal matters. But so does the dignity with which it is given. We bring meals directly to people in their tents, taking into account the realities of the families we serve. https://t.co/6l9JFjWInX
For many people, simply getting up and standing in line at a community kitchen is not easy - or even possible.
Dr. Sakhr explains what that reality looks like for people with disabilities in Gaza. He understands it personally. His own mobility is limited, and after earning his PhD in the United States, he helped enact legislation in Palestine advancing disability rights.
Everyone in Gaza is suffering, but some people face additional barriers to accessing even the most basic necessities. People with disabilities, the injured, the elderly, and those with limited mobility cannot be an afterthought in humanitarian aid.
On July 28, The Sameer Project delivered 505 chicken and rice meals directly to families in Al-Amin (Mohammed) Camp. The distribution cost $1,282 including 11% banking fees.
This is what dignified aid looks like: meeting people where they are and making sure the most vulnerable are not left behind.
Help us continue bringing food directly to the families who need it most. If our project shuts down these families will have no where else to turn. Donate to the Food and Water Campaign to help.
