In this first session from Jackson Hole, we begin our study of James 4:1–12 by focusing on the destructive problem of pride within the human heart. James exposes the internal desires and selfish ambitions that fuel conflict, division, and spiritual compromise, reminding us that pride is not merely an outward issue, but a deep heart issue that places us in opposition to God. This teaching examines how sinful passions wage war within us and how unchecked pride leads believers away from humility, holiness, and dependence upon the Lord.
As James unfolds the seriousness of pride, he also points us to the grace of God, who “gives more grace” to those who humble themselves before Him. In a culture consumed with self-exaltation and personal ambition, this passage calls Christians to repentance, submission to God, resistance against the devil, and a renewed pursuit of purity and humility. Part 1 of this study serves as a sobering and encouraging reminder that God opposes the proud, but gives grace to the humble.

What happens when missions ignores language?
In this powerful TMF Member Zoom Call, Brooks Buser tackles one of the most important questions in modern missions: Does language really matter when taking the gospel to the nations?
Drawing from years of missionary experience among unreached people groups, Brooks explains why heart language, Bible translation, and clear gospel communication are essential to faithful missions and lasting discipleship. This discussion challenges shallow approaches to missions and calls believers back to a biblical vision for reaching every tribe and tongue with the truth of Christ.
If you are passionate about missions, pastoral ministry, theology, or the Great Commission, this is a conversation worth hearing.

Dr. James Dolezal joins this TMF Zoom Call to discuss God’s incomprehensibility—one of the most profound and humbling truths in Christian theology. In this conversation, we consider what it means to say that God is truly knowable, yet never exhaustively comprehended by finite creatures. This doctrine guards the majesty of God, deepens our worship, and reminds us of the Creator-creature distinction at the heart of biblical theology.
If you want to think more carefully about the being of God, classical Christian theology, and the way sound doctrine fuels reverence and devotion, this discussion will be a rich resource. Be sure to like, subscribe, and share this video with others who want to grow in theological depth and delight in the glory of God.

In this session, Greg Gifford addresses the important distinction between the mind and the brain and why that difference matters for biblical counseling, discipleship, and pastoral ministry. As confusion continues to grow around mental illness, emotional struggles, and the role of the body, this teaching helps Christians think carefully and biblically about the relationship between spiritual care, the inner life, and legitimate medical concerns.
This message explores common misunderstandings about mental health, the tendency to reduce human problems to the brain alone, and the pastoral implications of that confusion. Greg offers practical guidance for shepherding people wisely, encouraging biblical clarity, compassionate ministry, and appropriate care where physical issues may be involved. This is a helpful resource for pastors, counselors, church leaders, and any Christian seeking to think biblically about the complexities of the mind, the brain, and discipleship.
