A narcissist doesn’t love you. They love your access. They love your energy, your empathy, your effort ... but they don’t value it. They study you, mirror you, charm you... all just to get what they want. To them, people aren’t people ... they’re supply. A means to feel important. A backup plan. A safe place to run to when life humbles them.
They’ll cry about childhood wounds and tell you their trauma made them this way ... but when you offer them healing, support, or therapy, they resist. Because healing requires accountability, and accountability destroys the illusion they hide behind. Narcissists live in cycles of chaos and blame. They know exactly what they’re doing ... they just don’t care enough to change.
You can pour every ounce of love, compassion, and loyalty into them… and they will still betray you behind your back, all while painting you as the problem. They’ll manipulate your emotions, twist your words, invalidate your feelings, and then gaslight you for reacting like a human being.
Being with a narcissist feels like drowning while they watch you and ask why you’re not smiling. It’s mentally exhausting, emotionally destructive, and spiritually draining. And when you’re finally empty, they’ll call you “too sensitive” for needing to be refilled.
So if you’re dealing with one, listen carefully ... you can’t fix them, and you can’t save them. You owe yourself peace, not pain. Walk away before you lose yourself trying to prove your worth to someone who never intended to see it.
Protect your heart. Reclaim your power. You deserve love that heals, not love that hurts.
A sign your nervous system is healing is that you start to romanticize life again. You notice sunlight spilling across your kitchen counter. You feel your own laughter. You slow down enough to taste your coffee, to watch the rain, to actually be present. It’s not about life being perfect, it’s about feeling safe enough in your own body to see the beauty again.
I’m really tired of the honest people being held to a higher standard than the dishonest malignant narcissists who seem to be allowed to get away with anything.
Before you start diagnosing yourself with NPD, depression, anxiety, or low self-esteem, first make sure that you are not, in fact, just surrounding yourself with narcissists
Before crying over not being chosen, sit and think about the character of the person who didn’t choose you.
you really wanted that narcissistic, sociopathic cheater to choose you? Oh ok, thought so.
In light of the LNP’s recent attempts to exploit the complex and often traumatic issue of abortion for sleazy political points, am reminded of Cher’s wisdom…👇👏
When narcissists see someone with qualities they lack—like empathy, authenticity, and inner happiness —they experience intense resentment. But admitting to themselves or others that they hate you for being a good person would expose their own inadequacy. So instead, they manufacture a narrative that paints you as the problem.
They’ll twist reality to make you seem like the abuser, manipulator, or other negative qualities they know people will easily accept without looking deeper.
They need a justification for their hatred that keeps their fragile self-image intact while also manipulating others into siding with them.
It’s not you, it’s them.
