When I initiated County Connections in 2021, my goal was simple: ensure no child was left behind during the summer months.
Thanks to the Harris County Department of Education (@HCDEtx), CASE for Kids (@HCDE_CASE), and our excellent partners, over 70 organizations received grants totaling $1.4M, bringing summer programs to 23,000+ kids across Harris County.
Together, we’re filling the gap and giving young people in every corner of Harris County the chance to learn, grow, and explore.
Harris County’s federal investments in early childhood initiatives are helping nonprofits all around the county provide critical summer learning opportunities for kids.
