@BlueSakura420@HopelessManmode I've always wondered about that... when I'm out and about, I meet many Prideful people (is that the right way to say it?) in Washington, amazing people for sure. 🫂, though I have wondered what made so many choose the Northwest.
So, it's @YouTube as a whole apparently...
You can't even use Recommendations or even the Home page anymore *unless* your Watch History is turned on, and I think that's completely barbaric.
@DeepHumor, you have to see this.
@Sokilkyy *that* explains Micro, I was seeing lots of reactions today but nobody when scrolling mentioned him, so I was left so bewildered
but this definitely clears it up, glad some did apologize, but for others, I hate how someone suffering somehow exacerbated their sense of superiority
@nagev1cklee__ It may just be me, but it always felt like the Hermitcraft side of the community was a more chill and inclusive place, especially after spending a few years of playing and witnessing the more intense and competitive side of Minecraft and the effects it can have on people.
@Sokilkyy I took some time to read into the full extent of many Ukrainians' justified outrage, and admittedly I should have done that first before giving my own first take, and apologize for that ignorance...
It's terrible Ukrainians were actively being Silenced online admist Genocide. 👇
@hoshimka1@Nuno_theKitten It astonishes me so much that it took *years* to get to this point...
It's one thing for Ukrainians to be rightfully upset at a lack of clarity, but a whole other that they expressed a wish for accountability and instead got Silenced... 👇
@jamiemrow@inteledits Let alone the fact her statement of *support* for Ukraine back when the Invasion started looks a bit Vague... and certainly doesn't carry the weight of support as she still actively created content promoting her Heritage while Ukraine was being torn apart by Russia in the War.
@jamiemrow@inteledits She's actually ethnically part-Russian, but was born in the US and currently lives in Canada.
So less of a tie to Russia than one may think, she was there visiting extended family, but admittedly the lack of Context & Clarity for her trip was a MAJOR Oversight on her part.
@MarshWithLove@itsjustdigit How many people defended that without looking at any Docs released? (I made that same mistake, and apologize)
It's one thing for Ukrainians to be upset, and rightfully so, a whole other that they had to fight for this to be brought up because they were actively being Silenced.
@GryshenkoKh@vyudra_ Agreed... both countries have their issues, as does any, yet one's actions does not excuse another's.
Russia is committing Genocide against the Ukrainian people, and this episode has hopefully opened the eyes of its extent to many. (Myself included, and it's devastating to see)
@debbiemoralestv Is there something I missed... the only event I watched today was the Hermit Takeover MCC, was there something wrong with a creator there, or did another event occur today the community hasn't been made aware of?
@nagev1cklee__ That's honestly fair... I think her response was "good enough", but this should have been addressed 3-4 years ago, not after the community had to come together to bring it to light against odds when the Flight SMP's (among others) initial response was silencing Ukrainians.
It astonishes me that Ukrainians were actively being silenced for speaking about the effects the War was having on them, their families, and their country.
They are victims & survivors of an ongoing genocide, and as with anyone, we should be more than willing to hear their voice
also mcyt fans being so hostile towards the victims of a fucking genocide is INSANE! sorry that the victims of war don't want to see someone from the country that is currently killing their loved ones?! you all should think more about what you're saying
@nagev1cklee__ It astonishes me that Ukrainian creators were actively being silenced for hoping to speak up about the War and the effect it has on them, their culture, and importantly, their families...
I'll admit... 👇
@Poslanetsss@notgrayce@spideyarmy_ That's your decision, and I'll respect it
Overall, I think Spidey's complete lack of clarity towards the problem with promoting her heritage was a Critical Oversight as well as the Silencing that the Ukrainian side of the community until now, which shouldn't have happened at all
@merpmanor @Sokilkyy (2)
She was Ignorant for not providing Context or Clarity for her visit let alone past support for her heritage, especially for the pain it would have caused to the Ukrainian people who saw it, yet I think it's a step too far to say she must condemn her own identity for it.
