Why are we rolling out the red carpet for 17,500 Afrikaners with no ties here while stranding 1,100 Afghan allies who risked their lives for our country?
“Assimilation” isn’t an answer. It’s a dog whistle. And it’s wrong.
A federal court has just ordered that @StateDept to notify all SIVs who have received Chief of Mission approval but haven’t yet interviewed or received their visa that their visas will be denied if they interview.
This is the language they’ll receive.

Afghans risked their lives to help the U.S. as advisors, interpreters, and special operation forces. Turning our backs on our allies—including family members of U.S. servicemembers and hundreds of children—to send them to war-torn DRC is evil and wrong. https://t.co/TYaHocByWV
President of the aid group AfghanEvac Shawn VanDiver says a potential plan to send Afghan refugees who aided the U.S. war effort to the Democratic Republic of Congo could jeopardize their lives.
