As an in-camera approach, PlateLight provides filmmakers with the ability to control on-set lighting after the film has been captured, while maintaining the integrity of a real performance and real lighting, in the face of a movement towards artificial filmmaking approaches.
Each film operates as a different recollection of the same performance. Satellite Labs PlateLight technology enables the filmmakers to capture the same moment with different lighting conditions. This results in three versions of the same film
Today is National Walking the Dog Day! 🦮🖤
Meet some of the pups featured in this short documentary about "Rescued", a collaborative project we made last year with @TheSatelliteLab and artists @Carlo_VandeRoer.
Thank you #VFXVoice for the mention of our collaboration with #PlateLight on #ThorLoveAndThunder in your coverage of this years VFX Oscar prospects https://t.co/ZCOiAUeKAX
@dionysus64@phantomhispeed@fellowshiptrust@bestfriends For our collaboration with Fellowship, the Onyx camera allowed us to record at over 12,500 fps, using DynmicLight to move light sources at over 5 times the speed of sound and PlateLight to record multiple lighting set-ups concurrently. A lot of fun!
