Ecosia is sadly very obnoxious. It's not ads, but they constantly interrupt with how many trees you have planted. I don’t care; I just want to use the search engine without their greenwashing.

I now use Qwant, the French alternative, which doesn’t get in my way as much as Ecosia.

It’s all a skin over Microsoft Bing anyway.

@luciascarlet They should beg Valve to port Proton to the Mac. Apple already has the Game Porting Toolkit. With a bit of love, it should be possible to get the Mac to the same state as Linux.

But Apple will never do that since they’d miss out on their 30% cut. And Steam is Mac only.

If you are dealing with any kind of customer data in your LLM sessions, then it would be illegal thanks to the US Cloud Act.

But then again, I haven’t found any European hoster that provides Kimi or any other large open-weight models.

I’m currently using Qwant, but it seems to be getting slower. They all use Bing in the background anyway.

I think Brave is building its own index. That is interesting, but I prefer a European option.
