@campbellclaret The comments on this thread - Blimey. An awful lot of very angry people out there. Anyway, it doesn't matter - whatever benefit Trump derived from the attempted assassination has been more than outweighed by the emergence of the Kamala threat and his, ahem, cloth-eared response.
@RoryStewartUK@RestIsPolitics@campbellclaret Good: Transforming the Labour Party and making it electable again in far less time than anyone thought possible in 2019.
Not so good: Occasionally slow on his feet and showing distinct lack of ambition and inspiration.
But then he's combating a predominantly Tory-owned media.
@Peston Exactly! Read Nick Wallis's admirable 'Great Post Office Scandal' to see what a ropey, ramshackle, lash up Horizon was from the very beginning and how everyone at the top (including Government) KNEW that it was. The more one learns about this horror show, the worse it gets. ๐คฌ
People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA): Save Dogs from Mass Murder & Prohibit Stray Dog Suffering in Morocco - Sign the Petition! https://t.co/1nrfKzFVbZ via @UKChange
I just signed the petition calling on @ofcom to make sure their rules are able to hold ALL news channels to account - and properly enforce them on GB News . Will you sign too?

@LucyMangan Ah, commiserations to you and the rest of the family, Lucy. So horrid to lose a beloved parent. I know this, having lost both. But somehow, they manage to stay with you in odd ways.
@JuliaDavisNews Wow... so (most of them) clearly are clinically insane. Well done to the former general for at least trying to introduce a note of rationality. 'Just wipe France (or the UK) off the map' indeed. ๐คฃ If ever there was an argument for Trident or the Force de Frappe, this is it.
@AndyRileyish Delicious, it's the re-run of William the Bastard in the south and Harold the Hot-Headed from the north - but geographically and etymologically reversed and featuring many, many hardware purchases. Some of which could probably take your eye out if not careful.
@JuliaDavisNews Wow! Just wow. Mel Brooks would have been proud of this. 'Springtime for Putin and Rossiya'. More rictus grins there than a trainload of cyanide cases.
@johnharris1969 Like they now have a choice. It's this or economic doom. But this deal is out of reach of any Tory govt because, like, ERG. Still, it would pave the way for Labour or coalition.
@janemerrick23 Arresting under section 1 of PACE?
"Under section 1 of PACE, a police constable may stop, detain, and search any person or vehicle in a public place, as long as the officer has โreasonable groundsโ for suspecting that they will find stolen or prohibited articles โ such as.... 1/2
@Peston There must be questions about the judgements of Alok Sharma and Ben Wallace as well. At least the latter had the sense to say he was only 'leaning' to Johnson and to point to the Privileges Committee as a bit of an, um, issue.
@Euan_MacDonald@RolandOliphant PLEASE Russians, do try to hold the line of the Inhulets. Excellent plan. On no account should you think of pulling your forces (minus heavy equipment) south of the Dnipro across the Nova Kakhovka dam crossing.
@RileyTravels@tnewtondunn I've never seen La Nandy supporting Brexit, per se. She DID argue forcefully that if political parties didn't enact the referendum decision (however stupid) that would be electoral poison. In that, she showed herself one of the smarter ones in the room.
