I like what @dhh @OmarchyLinux brings to the table and have loved testing it. My problem is the primary machine I want to use it with is my work system. For reasons I access my work linux machine via a windows box using @cytrence haven't figured out good keybindings so its usable.

Listening to Stargate fans isn't about giving in to nostalgia,it's about understanding the audience you've already inherited.

Fans were encouraged when Martin Gero and other Stargate veterans were involved because it signalled continuity, experience, and respect for what made the franchise special.

These are creators who understand the characters, the humour, the optimism, the world-building and the unique Stargate balance of science fiction and human storytelling.

That matters. Fans don't expect every new story to recreate SG-1 or Atlantis. We want a new Stargate that understands why we loved the originals.

The existing fanbase is an asset: passionate viewers, word-of-mouth ambassadors and a ready-made community that can help introduce Stargate to a new generation.

You doesn't have to give us fans everything we ask for. But listening to us,and giving experienced Stargate creators a meaningful role,could reduce risk and build trust from day one.

The Gate already has an audience waiting on the other side. Open it.

#AmazonMGM , please don’t make the same mistake with Stargate that Disney and Paramount have made with Star Wars and Star Trek.

Look at what happened: years of inconsistent direction, cancelled projects, fractured fanbases and legacy characters/franchises caught between competing visions.

Stargate deserves better. Learn from Star Wars and Star Trek — don’t repeat them. Give Stargate a clear long-term plan, respect its history, and build on what made fans love it in the first place.

For many Stargate fans, the appeal of Martin Gero wasn't that he would reinvent the franchise—it was that he understood it.

The overwhelming message from the fanbase has always been simple:

Don't reboot Stargate. Continue it.

Seventeen seasons of outstanding television across SG-1, Atlantis, and Universe built one of science fiction's richest shared universes. That legacy shouldn't be erased or rewritten. It should be expanded.

We don't want new actors stepping into the iconic roles of Jackson, O'Neill, Carter, Teal'c or the rest of the other original team.

We don't want to watch the defeat of the Goa'uld or the Replicators all over again, as though the last three decades of storytelling never happened.

Those stories have already been told—and told brilliantly.

What we do want is the next chapter.

A new Stargate program. A new flagship team. New worlds to explore. New civilizations to encounter. New allies, new mysteries, and new enemies worthy of standing alongside the Goa'uld, Wraith, Ori, and Replicators.

Most importantly, we want it to exist in the same continuity that fans have invested in for nearly thirty years.

Let the original characters return naturally—not as the stars of the show, but as experienced leaders, mentors, generals, diplomats, and scientists whose histories matter. Their presence should reinforce the universe, not overshadow the next generation.

That's why many fans believed Martin Gero was the right person for the job. He had already proven through Stargate Atlantis that he respected the established canon while successfully introducing new characters, fresh stories, and a distinct identity. Rather than replacing what came before, he built upon it.

The future of Stargate has never needed a reboot.

It has always deserved a continuation.

The Fort Worth PD police account is an official government account. Because these pages serve as official government channels, courts—including the U.S. Supreme Court—have consistently ruled that blocking citizens based on their political or critical viewpoints violates their free speech rights.

In other words, it is illegal for them to block @libsoftiktok.

This police department really does not understand the first amendment.
