Where are those people who brought very culturally demeaning messages about defecating and made our people ululate? Was that our priority area, really? As a people, we sometimes need to guard our pride and sense of cultural belonging. Thas was very demeaning.
Today, UNFPA hosted a delegation from Mozambican National Statistics Institute, in the country to learn how Malawi conducted its post-census activities. The visit comes after Malawi successfully carried the first ever digital census in 2018 that was completed in record time.
The situation in #Malawi needs more attention. It has barely registered on the radar. In sum, the Mutharika gov't, which won a controversial election last May, has attempted to bribe judges - they refused and reported the matter to the corruption bureau. No action has been taken.
