Evgeny Kuznetsov is Example #1 of why you draft the best player available even if you have to wait an extra season or two to put him on your NHL lineup.
For the people advocating for Vigneault: his starting goalies in the last 10 years were Luongo, Schneider, and The King. That will give any coach a base level of success. NYR has been a mess in recent years and his use of certain players (Buchnevich) is troubling. Stay away.
It was the right move, he's just not the guy for a rebuild. But there was a lot of success under him, despite the frustrations that sometimes came with it. https://t.co/f8e27CfRLz
I'm really glad Cody McLeod is in the lineup to do this every game. Can we at least see if Matt Beleskey can still play? Better than this https://t.co/mFdUDQDaPt
The Rangers have lost about a billion games to injury, they sold four key players (and Holden) at the deadline, they’re playing THREE Hartford regulars on defense every night, McLoed is in most lineups, and the Rangers STILL have more wins than the Islanders.
Is there anything this man can't do? It's amazing watching him on a nightly basis since 2005. His compete level and heart with the Rangers is unmatched. Happy Birthday Hank! #NYR https://t.co/qvamCEIPd1
Lundqvist is the first goaltender in @NHL history (since saves were first tracked in 1955-56) to make 50 or more saves and earn a win in two consecutive games. #NYR
That's one of the saves that will end up on the end of his career highlight reel. What an incredible save. Hank is carrying this team #NYR https://t.co/sfxjN0b7f1
Is it a reach to say Spooner is better than Miller? He was pretty damn good in Boston too. Seems like a much more well rounded player, maybe a bit more Hockey IQ and playmaking skills. I really like what he's done so far #NYR
Really liking the play of Namestnikov and Spooner so far. They could wind up being very nice complementary pieces once the Rangers are competitive again
@Brainsonwall Eric Staal has almost never played wing. He is a center. Minnesota has shown that you surround him with good talent, he'll play well. Some of the blame falls on E. Staal, but the way AV used him was ridiculous
Remember when AV used him on the wing (not his position) on the 3rd line and we all wondered why he wasn't playing well? Good times #NYR https://t.co/6WfF0zu1Rp
It's amazing how great the Eric Staal signing has been for Minnesota. One of the best contracts in the league. They've squeezed 61-goals out of him in 1.5Y .... for a veteran on a 3yr, $3.5mm AAV contract.
