As someone that builds in the gaming niche, building the types of games that can appeal to the traditional web2 audience would require lots of bread.

The cost of this pre-AI would have gone absolutely through the roof, but with thinking models like Claude/openclaw this can be done much easier and for far less cost.

For those wondering why it would have to cost so much it's because a game has much more moving parts compared to the average web3 SaaS; There's Game design, assets creation, sprites (mechanics), physics, hosting.

And don't even get me started on the amount of distribution needed to make a game a success. The sheer amount of marketing/CAC/LTV and retention calculations required to stay afloat is ridiculous. This is because players will naturally get tired of playing a game after sometime.

Hence, we are left with web3 games that chase points systems and multipliers as a way to reduce churn, so there you go.
