Today, the UNSC unanimously adopted a 🇩🇰🇵🇰-drafted resolution on accountability for crimes against UN peacekeepers. We thank all Council members and the record 153 co-sponsoring Member States for their strong support. Attacks on UN peacekeepers must not go unpunished.

Without fuel, trucks cannot move critical humanitarian assistance, water pumps will stop functioning & the remaining hospitals will shut down.

This happens at a time we are racing against the clock to respond to immense humanitarian needs across the #Gaza Strip.

The crossings must open for fuel & humanitarian supplies must start flowing back into Gaza smoothly.

A full-scale assault on Rafah would be a human catastrophe.

Countless more civilian casualties.

Countless more families forced to flee yet again – with nowhere safe to go.

Meanwhile, the repercussions will be felt far beyond, in the occupied West Bank, and across the region.

#Gaza: Key crossing points continue to be closed.
These crossings are a lifeline. Through them we bring critical supplies and fuel for humanitarian use. They need to be reopened without any delay.

I echo the call of the Secretary General for reaching an agreement on the long overdue ceasefire.
The recent advancement of the Israeli Forces into #Rafah is creating more anxiety, bringing havoc and forcing people to flee again and again.
Currently, on average 200 people are leaving Rafah every hour to Khan Younis and the middle areas.
The area of Al-Mawasi is overcrowded with more than 400,000 people.
It does not have the facilities to take more people & is not safer than other parts of Gaza.

The absence of a ceasefire means more loss, pain, grief & pushes further from the desperately needed #peace.
