@AntCoulls@railnigel AIUI, This was the second T2 built for Ruswarp Min rly (named douglas), having sold the first one and going for IC power, this was then built in 2014 before a reversion to IC power again soon after. Stood for 8 yrs before being thoroughly rebuilt by The Steam Workshop
@TidmouthYard 5741 was a 1929 built pannier, so, as built it had backplate feed. Top Feed became standard for new build panniers from 1942 onwards and older panniers gained them as they went through the works . in short, yes 5741 didn't have a top feed until mid '40s at least
@rwsnwr12 Unfortunately that was my fault. When I was completing the artwork for 5741, my finger slipped when typing the colour code for GWR green, this one being specified to be "brilliant green" instead. Don't panic, it's already corrected on paper and production will be correct!
Today we are running trains in Melton Mowbray Town Park. We also unveiled the new look for our electric locomotive. Still a bit of touching up to do before the transfers go on...
@davidelement1@accurascale Its since been repaired. For ultimate accuracy, it would have to be fitted with class 56 buffers at this end only too! No, We are doing it without damage!
@wrt_77@PdannyH@NSE_Latchmere@accurascale@hornby I know the exact timeline as it was me who started the Bachmann 31 before I moved to Accurascale. Remember Accurascale had EPs when they launched 2 years ago so had been working on it for over a year when they announced it.
So that's one side done, now to repeat on the other. Hopefully, I will have some updated boiler quotes back next week so we can start moving the big bit in the middle forward. Anyone fancy sponsoring the water gauges at ยฃ300 each. DM me!
It's been a busy few days for us here. In between reviewing some tasty EPs and finalising a load of artworks for @accurascale, I've managed to get the smokebox and brake rigging back on the loco. Big bit in the middle still missing though and spring isn't far away!
The time has come to pass on my 10.25 loco project to someone else. With all the problems of the last year with our overhaul. Will offer all parts, drawings and images for just ยฃ600! This is a rare opportunity to acquire a start to a really unusual model
The Mystery Loco - a Thread ๐งต. in 1905, the Ayrshire Gold Mine and Lomagunda Railway Company ordered an 0-6-0T from Hunslet in Leeds for their 2' gauge railway in Southern Rhodesia. This loco was named Hans Sauer and was works number 867. The locomotive went to work without fuss
Small progress today. The wheels and motion components have been cleaned up, ready for fitting. I have also started to refit the brake gear. Once this stage is complete, the loco chassis will be stored whilst work on the tender and boiler starts.
A good bit of progress. Springs arrived and the loco has wheels for the first time in over a year. The overhaul is racing along but we need your help. Sponsorship is welcome for parts, Drain cocks are ยฃ150, The water gauges are just under ยฃ300 each and the firebox nearly ยฃ700.
@MrTimDunn Yet @accurascale are bucking that trend. Most items sell out before arrival - not small quantities either. The prices are kept realistic without compromise, a proper loyalty scheme with real rewards and an attractive purchasing experience - right down to the box and paperwork
