A subtle England penalty shootout innovation (since 2021) is their deliberate, structured & functional use of social psychology.
Here, Saka is picked up by John Stones after his penalty, to swiftly welcome him back in the team.
What did England do and why did they do it?

.@_ajawilson22 on the impact of @dawnstaley & @BeckyHammon on her life:
"Y'all know I'm emotional so I'm trying not to cry. They've had so much sacrifice. They've had so much patience with me and my dyslexic mind, and I love them for that."

You will never find one answer to what makes you happy. There are many answers, and they change based on your current state.
People need to relax, but if all you do is sit on the beach, it gets old. People find meaning in work, but if all you do is work, it gets exhausting. People benefit from exercise, but if all you do is exercise, it gets unhealthy.
Happiness will always be fleeting because your needs change over time. The question is: what do you need right now?
Last weekend, I attended Warren Buffett’s Berkshire Hathaway Annual Meeting in Omaha.
It was an incredible experience.
9 ideas from the event that I can't stop thinking about:
This is Arthur Brooks.
A Harvard professor who teaches happiness to MBAs, CEOs, and politicians.
His classes are impossible to get into and even have a "grey market" zoom link.
Here's 9 of his ideas that unlocked my happiness journey (and can do the same for you).
"I'd rather be a football player than a basketball player. That's how much I love it. There's nothing close to a bigger sport in the world, nothing close to it. I like the concept of a team. In basketball, if you have 2 good players you can win but in football, the team has to be together."

agree here... training is set up to be the "stage" for players to perform, learn, and grow - - and for the most part they drill, stand, and get talked at. So when a coach or club says it'snot about game time, its about training and improvement - not exactly.
“A common problem in many sports is that opportunities to develop decision-making skills are limited to actual competition because training has tended to overemphasize the development of technical skills.”
Great quote from the book Athlete-centred Coaching: Developing Decision Makers
The Caitlin Clark Effect 🤯

The most recent example was at Purdue with a total attendance of 14,867, 3x Purdue’s average.
