District court judge Joanne Jannik is overseeing Holloway’s case at the moment and is the one who granted his motion to leave the state. There are two district court judges in Tuscaloosa county, and my understanding is cases are assigned alphabetically.

She also oversaw the initial part of the case for Darius Miles (denying him bond) before it went to *circuit court* where it has spent the majority of the last three years. Judge Daniel Pruet has been over the Miles case ever since.

If the Holloway case gets elevated to circuit court, judge Corey Seale is currently assigned to his possession of marijuana charge, but that can change.
