Official copy of my new paper with @brett_gordon on the relationship between mastery and cognitive style is now online! https://t.co/lTlIZ29rbJ We find, with a notable exception, students reporting more deliberate cognitive styles also report a greater sense of personal control.
It is with great pleasure that I share MAXMINDS 2.0, a new Max Planck program to support scholars in danger of displacement by war or natural disasters, and who have limited access to resources and institutional support.
If you know affected scholars, please share.

What does it mean to be an ally? What happens if we transfer a concept from international to interpersonal affairs? A little essay on Spinoza and Lakoff & Johnson on metaphors to live together by.
Posting logs on the OSF is likely to be among the most effective ways for increasing transparency. Even if they are request only and not initially public ...
An underdiscussed alternative to pre-registration for observational data analysis: research assistants should keep a log file for all data analysis they do, and this file should be posted publicly along with any published papers.
🚨 I am looking to hire 1-2 pre-docs at the University of Toronto.
Some things you could work on: forecasts of research results, guaranteed income, evidence-based policy, AI.
Deadline: March 31. Please share!

Very good start of the new Metaror journal as the public peer reviews are as critical of @jamesheathers recent claim that 1 in 7 papers are fraud as I want my peer metascientists to be of such badly supported bold claims. Read the reviews here: https://t.co/VInnAk37HI
New paper with @ThisIsSoli! We analyze citations of ASA journals, focusing on the proportion that come from within vs. outside of sociology. Overall, the interdisciplinary relevance of these journals is steadily, but unevenly, growing. https://t.co/Nygi6pdI4E
Just in case there are any academics left on twitter - I have a new paper! In it, I use research on the actor-audience relationship in improv to advance theories of social performance, particularly cultural pragmatics. https://t.co/7ku4Wwolna
