The latest escalation in Lebanon is deeply concerning, particularly due to its severe impact on civilians, at a sensitive moment for regional de‑escalation. We urge for the immediate cessation of hostilities to prevent further civilian harm and destabilisation. We reaffirm our solidarity with the Lebanese Government and support ongoing efforts to uphold the country’s sovereignty, including the full and effective disarmament of Hezbollah.

On March 31st, we will be glad to welcome HRVP @kajakallas and EU foreign ministers in Kyiv for a ministerial meeting.

The date is symbolic. We will commemorate the grim anniversary of the Bucha massacre and reaffirm commitment to holding Russian criminals accountable for this and other atrocities.

We will also discuss the EU’s support for Ukraine, pressure on Russia, and efforts to achieve peace and protect long-term stability in Europe.

I am grateful to HRVP Kaja Kallas and my EU colleagues for accepting the invitation and look forward to hosting them.

Malta welcomes the breakthrough on Phase 1 of the @POTUS Gaza Peace Plan. We urge all parties to fully abide by the terms of this deal. Release all hostages, secure a permanent ceasefire and unimpeded humanitarian aid into Gaza.

The attack on al-Ahli Hospital in Gaza is deplorable and against international humanitarian law. Expecting its evacuation within twenty minutes is impossible. It is unacceptable that children are paying the price with their lives. This is deplorable and unacceptable.

One year after the horrific October 7 terrorist attack in #Israel, an @OSCE Partner for Cooperation, we reflect on the innocent lives lost in this attack and the subsequent violence in the Middle East.

The immense suffering of the past year underscores the urgent need for all parties to exercise restraint, prevent further escalation, and break the cycle of violence. Protecting civilians must be the top priority, with all efforts aimed at reducing tensions, releasing all hostages, and achieving an immediate ceasefire in #Gaza and #Lebanon.

There is still hope for a future where the people of the region can live in lasting peace. Meaningful dialogue to achieve this must intensify without further delay.
