Yesterday was my moms final workout, and we just focused on a core burn. By the end she was able to do 100 crunches, 60 leg lifts, and a 3 minute plank! She is not comfortable with pictures but my student rocked the hell out of this challenge. #letsteachadults@YEPeducation
Concept-verb-concept: physical health influences emotions. Learner discussed how after lessons she feels more excited than previously, and pride that she got through it. She also discussed how annoyed she feels right before she begins her workout.
@azka__batool@YEPeducation How pretty! Do you allow your student free time during your lessons? Or is this something she has just done on her own time.
@Upracticum@YEPeducation How do you go about instructing your student? At this point are you still modeling what you expect then letting the student try. Or are you just giving verbal instructions?
@Kbissoon28 I applaud you for talking about the challenges and hardships of the learning. How did you go forward without your student feeling discouraged?
@Sangmin95052889@YEPeducation This is definitely essential, especially for those directionally-impaired like myself! Did she learn how to add multiple stops?
This week as our half way point into our progress. On the 15th, for our workout I had my student use her previous knowledge of the smart tv and pull up a YouTube workout video. @YEPeducation#letsteachadults
@MissAmello@YEPeducation We do these exercises in conjunction to an hour long workout, and we plan on doing them 2 times. But sometimes that changes depending on how tired my student may get. Our goal is to at least do one set of them.
This week we worked on our second unit:EXERCISE! I have planned out a month program with my student, with a focus on core as her learning goal is a stronger core. @YEPeducation#letsteachadults crunches; scaffolding: standing bicycle crunch /challenging: vertical leg crunch
@Kbissoon28 @YEPeducation Yeah we had to adjust the amount of reps and sets we did for each exercise, and we modified the movements depending on how comfortable my student felt
@azka__batool@YEPeducation Loving the use of the question matrix! Did you use this to form your lesson of the week? Or will this be how you build your next couple of lessons.
@Kbissoon28 Love this idea of taking a break to just focus on their knowledge instead of just getting to the goals you or your student is so set on achieving.
@SierraYep14 @YEPeducation This is a great idea on how to incorporate our students world with their learning! If the weather continues being this nice I might try to have an outside workout with my student.
@azka__batool@YEPeducation I really enjoy how your lessons are well incorporated and linked to each other. You arenโt having her draw a face, then a bug, then hair. It feels like you kept the students progress in mind
