People will observe priests wearing shoes with worn out soles or dingy clothes and ascribe it to their great humility and piety. Most of the time it's really just us not having a woman in our life to tell us any better.

Case in point: who has even seen a photo of a single man's room which is basically a mattress on the floor and a camping chair and thought "Truly, this is the dwelling place of a great mystic."
