Sehr lesenswert:

Laureates: policies restricting agricultural innovation undermining crop productivity
We: support regulation that helps agriculture adopt these tools and improve its climate resilience and sustainability. https://t.co/XNSgzq0bBD
Definitely yes. I wonder... is there an environmental org that also calls for moonshot investments in novel food tech and for lifting restrictive regulation to allow sustainable crop development? *cough* @weplanetint, @oekoprog#FundFutureFood and #GiveGenesAChance
🚨153 Laureates warn: 🌍 Hunger Tipping Point Ahead!
👩🔬 Science & innovation are critical to feed 9.7B by 2050. It’s time for a moonshot to tackle food insecurity.

Although we are the German branch of @weplanetint, this deserves an English 🧵:
Today @_freidel published a report on how German taxpayers' money is being misused for biased research to agitate against #nuclear power internationally, e.g. at COPs. /1 https://t.co/TiVyJses00
Dear @Die_Gruenen , setting ambitious climate targets becomes much easier when you accept #nuclear as one of the solutions. The reason why you have to oppose these targets now is because you decided that opposing nuclear is more important than #climate.

Why are we supporting climate youth in their #DearGreenpeace- campaign? Why was RePlanet founded?
Just like many of us, I also have a background in traditional enviromental NGOs as I've been an environmentalist as long as I remember.
Heat pumps are our best shot at decarbonising heating.
The UK is doing very badly on this.
But the rest of Europe is showing that:
1. It can be done
2. They work in colder climates than ours
RePlaneteer Iida (@Thoughtscapism) writes a beautiful piece reflecting on environmentalism and the magical way science helps us both understand and protect nature.
"Even better, science helps us appreciate how amazing the stuff is that we didn’t even know was going on in nature"

Att ta mark till lantbruk orsakar mycket utsläpp (från skog och jord) och våra stora mängder boskap står för ännu mer. Bränsle är såklart en del men metanutsläpp är signifikant stor.
“I got radiation from the flight…from the banana I ate for breakfast and from being out in the sun for the photo shoot. However, I got no registrable dose from bumping up to the nuclear waste.
The extreme safety of nuclear waste management can't be faked."

Replacing all artificial fertilizer for organic fertilizer would require 70% of the current arable land for growing legumes to fix nitrogen. https://t.co/b8kBbLy7Hb
Food production uses almost half of all habitable land. This doesn't leave much space for wild nature.
RePlaneteer Iida (@Thoughtscapism) examines the issue. Watch here: https://t.co/4jjw21dfzx
