The fourteen year old was in the North recovering from surgeries on his abdomen, including spleen removal and repairing his liver that was torn in half. But he was discharged from the hospital due to overcrowding and left to shelter in a “red zone,” so we offered to bring the family South to our Refaat Alareer Camp. When they arrived our doctors provided a full medical examine, highlighting his need for immediate nutrition.

But food is not available in Gaza. Our team searched the markets today to find him and other sick children in our camp something to eat. He was given sweet potatoes and Riri nutritional supplements, and tomorrow we will hopefully provide more.
