“I think Bruno’s comment about Manchester United giving the ball away too cheaply needs to start with himself. He was one of the biggest culprits today. He gets the ball and sometimes plays the pass without even checking whether a teammate is actually there. That’s not leadership, and it’s becoming a problem for this team.

When Manchester United are losing, Bruno often looks like he runs out of patience and ideas. He starts forcing things, gives the ball away and then throws his hands in the air. We saw it last season and we’re seeing the same thing again. As captain, he has to be the player who calms the team down, takes responsibility and leads by example.

I’ve said it before: Bruno Fernandes is a talented player, but I don’t see him as the type of midfielder who can consistently control a game and drag Manchester United to success when everything is going against them. Today, instead of coming out and pointing fingers at the team for giving the ball away, he should have looked at his own performance first.

If you’re the captain, responsibility starts with you. Stop losing the ball cheaply, stop throwing your hands in the air every time something goes wrong and start showing the leadership Manchester United need. Bruno needs to address his own performance before addressing everyone else’s.”
