A new geyser suddenly erupted in the patio of a home in El Salitre community in Ixtlán de los Hervores, Michoacán, Mexico.
The eruption occurred around midnight on May 25–26, 2026. Steam, hot water, mud, and sulfur gases/odor were ejected from the ground, forming a column several meters high. A muddy area spread outward, reaching about 3–4 meters in diameter at the main vent and affecting an area of about 30 meters.
Local Protección Civil (municipal and state) quickly responded: they evacuated the residents and some farm animals, cordoned off the area for safety, and are evaluating the risks. No human injuries or major structural damage to the home have been reported.
"This isn't the end of a weak man!
It's the close of a chapter for a fighter, worn out from the attack and drained from the struggle.. Yet never once sated in his desire to raise again."
