@hcf_munchhausen@BrzezinskiMich@UniBonn Thanks for your interest! The decrease in meat consumption is statistically significant and I show in my paper that the effect is comparable to what you would get with a carbon tax of 120 Euro per tonne: https://t.co/wv6p2gzo6R
In 2022, I partnered with the student canteens at @UniBonn to evaluate the effectiveness of carbon labels on their menus. The result: Emission-heavy meat consumption decreased by 5%. Thrilled to see StW Bonn has now permanently installed the labels!
Huge thanks to StW Bonn for supporting my research — and sincere appreciation for their thoughtful implementation and ongoing efforts to make dining more sustainable.
Can’t wait to be back in Bonn and make a well-informed lunch choice 😊
What are the post-intervention effects of a vegetarian month in the student canteen? You can find out by listening to Swiss radio 📻🇨🇭 Or by coming to my presentation at the AFE conference this Friday 🙋♀️Working paper: https://t.co/RjskAIRwls
What effect does a vegan/vegetarian month have on a canteen? The Studierendenwerk Bonn´s experiment was supported by @UniBonn and @uni_kassel: Up to 8 weeks after the month had ended, the amount of meat consumed in the canteen fell by 7 to 12%. @ECON_tribute@TillingAnna
Three weeks ago, I defended my PhD thesis at @UniBonn . What an exciting journey this has been! Every year came with new challenges and opportunities that my awesome supervisors @LorenzGoette , Sebastian Kube, and @thomas_dohmen helped me navigate.
