@footballmemorys There were some amazing soccer players in the 1970s NASL. I'm not a soccer expert, but I was astonished to see that the Peruvian Pele played for the FTL Strikers. Thankfully Mr. Cubillas is still alive...

@joshuarolson You make a fair point. This is indeed red meat for people who watch a lot of Fox News. But I live in a fairly red place. And I'm really, really, really sick of seeing Let's Go Brandon bumper stickers. Yes, they are still around, all over the place.

@BilgeEbiri Great movie! I recently watched it for a second time, the 1st since it was initially released. I would like to see it on the big screen (I've seen it on dvd, and the Criterion Channel, so far...)

@BilgeEbiri Thought about going to see a special screening of Titanic tonight. The running time was the main factor as to why I didn't go see it, but I want to see it as I like to revisit popular films I saw 25-30 years ago regardless of what view of them was at the time.

@washingtonpost As a Turkish-American, I find it striking that lots of Turkish Erdogan supporters (I'm not one of them) are arbitrarily defending Erdogan's gift even though it's more associated with Clint Eastwood than Cuneyt Arkin
